About Me

Dylan began his career in the fitness industry in March of 2015 when he was hired on as a CrossFit coach and trainer at FX TX CrossFit.

In December of 2014, Dylan attended his first CrossFit class at FX TX CrossFit. He immediately felt a sense of belonging and companionship at the box. Dylan made it his goal to make each member and personal training client feel that same sense of belonging.

Dylan is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He is also currently a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Dylan is currently the lead CrossFit instructor at CrossFit Reemerge in McKinney. His primary responsibility is to ensure that all classes are taught in a positive and consistent manner. He is also the owner of Stone Fitness, a personal training company partnered with CrossFit Reemerge.

Stone Fitness recently expanded to include self-defense training along with personal training. With 14 years of experience, Dylan has a second-degree black belt in both Shorin-Ryu and Shotokan Karate and a first-degree black belt in Jiu-Jitsu with specialization in self-defense tactics and techniques.

Individual Training

If you prefer to work out in a one-on-one setting, then this option is for you. Besides the first 30-minute assessment, sessions will be 60 minutes. Workouts will be specifically programmed for you based on your goals and your current fitness level.

Group Training

If you have friends or family members that would also like to train, then this option is for you. This option is less expensive per person. Sessions are 60 minutes long and are specifically programmed for you based on your goals and current fitness level.

Dylan offers the following services in either individual or group training sessions:

Weight Loss

The common belief is that you need to a lot of cardio work to burn fat. While this is true to an extent, it is proven that muscle burns fat. Dylan's weight loss programming consists of majority cardio work with moderate weight lifting. He believes that our bodies burn fat the most efficiently when our workout consists of 15-20 minutes of pushing our heart rate to 75-80% of its maximal output.

Corrective Exercise

The essence of corrective exercise is obvious: correcting exercises with proper form. However, Dylan takes this concept one step further: instead of focusing on the exercise form, focus on the muscle imbalances causing the improper form. Once you fix the overactive and underactive muscles, then focus on proper exercise form. This will train you to properly utilize your muscles and prevent any more muscle imbalances.

Functional Fitness

Functional fitness is utilized for two main goals: regaining physical functionality post-op and training the body for a specific purpose. If you have a job where you are constantly lifting heavy loads (i.e. a construction worker or a warehouse worker), then it would be ideal for you to train heavy lifting to strengthen the legs and lower back. On the other hand, if you are recovering from a surgical operation, it is best to start with specialized exercises based on the affected body part.

Sports Performance

There are four main aspects that you want to optimize as an athlete: speed, agility, quickness, and power. Similar to functional fitness, you are training to do a specific task or movement; however, the workouts will be specifically tailored towards completing the movement as quickly, powerfully, and efficiently as possible.

Nutrition Suggestions

Dylan is not a registered dietician (RD), so his meal plans are only suggestions. If you would like a certified diet plan, please see a registered dietician. Dylan believes in a specific diet plan that starts as a strict paleo diet that slowly reintroduces foods based on foods that your body specifically accepts.

Corporate Classes

Do you work in an office where people are sitting the majority of the day? Increase employee morale and efficiency by hosting a crossfit-style exercise class in your corporate gym. Contact Dylan for more details.
